What should I expect my first visit?
Please wear comfortable clothing. You will be seen by a doctor of physical therapy for every single visit. Your session will be one-on-one, and usually between 60-90 minutes. Payment is required at time of service. We accept cash, debit card, credit card, or HSA cards. Your evaluation will consist of a comprehensive medical/personal intake discussion and a comprehensive physical examination. Based on your evaluation, treatment will begin the same day. You will also be provided with education and tools to help treat your condition.

Why are you out of network with insurance companies?
In recent years, insurance companies strongly influence treatment that patients receive at the "in-network" clinics, and the business model necessary for an in-network practice to survive rarely ever allows for the high-level care we insist on giving our patients.

Due to progressively worsening reimbursement rates and pressure from insurance companies, the therapists at in-network clinics have to see at least 2 patients per hour (usually many more) and they often use technicians and assistants to provide much of the actual patient care. The care often includes modalities like heat packs and ultrasound, and the majority of a patient’s time at the clinic is spent doing exercises they could do on their own time. Furthermore, these types of clinics tend to require patients to attend 2-3 appointments per week.
We do not believe that modalities are nearly as effective as our hands-on treatment, and we also do not agree with having patients pay to perform exercises in the clinic that they can easily perform at home or at a gym.
All of our patients receive one-on-one care and hands-on treatment from a Doctor of Physical Therapy in every session. Most sessions are a full hour, but depending on each patient and their condition, session time is scaled appropriately. With this long-session, one-on-one treatment approach, the plan of care for the vast majority of our patients only involves one appointment per week.
When you consider the time savings of fewer trips to the clinic and the value of resolving your pain so much faster than average, the out-of-pocket expense at Fit & Function is a bargain.
How many clients do therapists see at one time?
Each therapist will only see one patient at a time in order to focus 100% of our attention on you. This will enable us to gain a full understanding of your concerns and needs, and allow us to best treat your condition in a holistic manner.
Client feedback has been positive, as our practice has a very different, more "boutique" feel than other large practices where therapists see multiple patients at the same time.

Can I get reimbursed by my insurance?
You may submit a superbill (which we can provide at the end of your session) to your insurance company for reimbursement according to your policy.  Most insurance companies have forms available for download on their websites and each policy varies greatly as to how much they will reimburse. You should call your insurance to inquire.  If you would like someone to do this for you, Treasure Valley Billing provides competent, professional independent billing for $10/visit.

What is your cancellation policy?
We request 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If given less than 24 hours notice, we reserve the right to bill the card on file a $75 cancellation fee. In order to best meet your needs, we need you to be engaged in the process, and this aides in accountability.
What should I do to prepare for my professional bike fit?
Please bring your bike (of course), shoes/cleats, and any and all equipment your normally ride with. This includes shorts, helmet, and sunglasses. This enables us to fully asses your riding posture and help prevent or treat your cycling injuries.
I have Medicare or Medicaid but would rather pay cash. Can I come see you?
Unfortunately, no. Because of strict Medicare/Medicaid requirements, we are unable to see anyone with these insurances as cash-pay clients. We would, however, be happy to refer you elsewhere.
What are your office hours?
We operate by appointment only. When we are with clients, we give them 100% of our attention while caring for them, so please leave a message if you get our voicemail. We will call you back as soon as possible to schedule.
