Physical Therapy For Boise’s Runners, Cyclists, and Active Adults.
We specialize in helping active adults recover from lower body injuries through movement-focused, strength-based physical therapy.
Physical Therapy For Boise's Active Population
At Fit & Function, we work with runners, cyclists, and active adults who want to move better, train harder, and stay pain-free.
Whether you’re coming off an injury or simply want expert support to stay ahead of one, we offer 1-on-1 care designed around your lifestyle and goals.
Every runner brings a different story to the table—different training loads, movement patterns, goals, and stressors. That’s why we don’t follow generic treatment plans. We take time to understand the full picture and build a recovery plan that fits your life, not just your symptoms.
Whether you’re dealing with knee pain, saddle discomfort, or numb hands, we’ll help you get back to pain-free riding. We address both movement issues and on-bike mechanics to improve comfort, strength, and performance—so you can ride longer and feel better doing it.
We work with athletes who want more than cookie-cutter rehab. From lifting to sprinting, we tailor treatment to your sport and goals—with hands-on care, strength programming, and space to train. Designed for active adults who want to perform—not just recover.
What We Treat
Back Pain
Whether it’s a sharp tweak or a dull ache that won’t go away, back pain can be frustratingly complex. Our back pain treatment goes beyond surface symptoms to address movement quality, strength, and lifestyle factors—so you can feel confident lifting, running, and moving freely again.
Hip Pain
Hip pain often shows up during workouts, long runs, or even while sitting. Our hip pain treatment focuses on assessing movement patterns, muscle imbalances, and loading strategies to help you move with strength and control again.
Knee Pain
Knee pain doesn’t always start at the knee. With our knee pain physical therapy, we look at how you move—up and down the chain—to understand why it hurts and how to fix it. Whether it’s pain during squats, stairs, or runs, we’ll help you find lasting relief.
Foot and Ankle Pain
From stiffness and instability to chronic soreness, foot and ankle issues can impact every step. Our foot and ankle pain treatment improves strength, mobility, and biomechanics—so you can stay active without relying on orthotics, braces, or endless rest.
More Than Exercise Prescription
At Fit & Function, your recovery involves a lot more than a printed sheet of exercises. We combine strength progression with hands-on techniques and targeted recovery tools to help you move better, feel better, and stay better. Each treatment plan is custom built, updated as you improve, and built to support your real-world goals—not just symptom relief.

Certified Manual Therapy
Hands-on treatment is often the missing link in recovery. Our therapists use skilled manual techniques—like joint mobilization and soft tissue release—to reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore control. Every session is tailored to what your body needs that day to help you keep progressing.

Cupping, E-Stim, and IASTM
These recovery tools are used strategically to reduce tension, improve circulation, and support healing—never as passive, standalone treatments. Whether we’re using cupping to improve tissue glide, electrical stimulation to activate muscles, or soft tissue tools to address stubborn tightness, each technique supports the bigger picture: helping you move and feel better.
Our Promise To Boise Athletes
We’re not a high-volume clinic built on generic plans and short appointments. You won’t be passed off to an aide or left doing exercises you could do at home. Here’s what to expect:
1-on-1 treatment with a licensed physical therapist who believes that you’re more than your injury diagnosis.
Plans tailored to your body and your activity level that account for all the lifestyle factors that make you unique.
Progress tracked week to week—not month to month.
Emphasis on strength, movement, and long-term resilience.

Meet Your Boise Physical Therapists

Dr. Maria Leibler

Hi! I’m Dr. Maria Leibler—a Doctor of Physical Therapy, certified manual therapist, and running rehab specialist. Running has shaped both my life and career. I ran cross-country in high school and briefly competed at the collegiate level before a torn tendon in my foot sidelined my career. That setback lit a fire in me to help other runners overcome their own obstacles.
After earning my Doctorate in Physical Therapy, I started my career in a busy, high-volume clinic—but treating multiple patients at once felt like I was putting out fires instead of making real progress. I knew runners deserved better. That’s why I opened my practice: to create a space where runners get the time, attention, and expert care they need to truly recover, build resilience, and reach their goals.
Today, I combine hands-on manual therapy with cutting-edge rehab techniques learned from top running specialists across the country. My goal is simple: to get you back to the miles you love, stronger than ever.
Dr. Ben Hoskyn

Hi! I’m Dr. Ben Hoskyn, an endurance specialist and certified bike fitter. I help runners and cyclists overcome injuries, build strength, and reach their full potential.
Growing up in the Midwest, I fell in love with endurance sports after running local kids’ races. That passion led me to pursue a career in physical therapy, earning my Doctorate from Pacific University of Oregon. My approach combines movement analysis, targeted strength training, and professional bike fits to address the root cause of pain—not just the symptoms.
Whether you’re coming back from an injury or striving for your next PR, I’m here to help you stay strong, perform better, and keep doing what you love—without setbacks.
